Become part of the CARF International team promoting quality improvement of providers around the world as an Accreditation Specialist. CARF accredits a broad range of programs/services in the areas of aging, mental health and addictions, child welfare, and medical rehabilitation, and that provide support to individuals (including persons with disabilities) to perform activities of daily living, participate in the community, and obtain meaningful employment. Help enhance the lives of persons served and promote quality rehabilitative services through interactions with providers, surveyors, and other stakeholders in support of the accreditation process.
The Accreditation Specialist provides specialized technical assistance regarding the CARF standards and accreditation process in the Medical Rehabilitation field, including frequent contact with new and currently accredited organizations, surveyors, and other stakeholders. Customer-satisfaction focused to promote quality improvement of service providers. The position also supports internal processes in new business development.
Essential duties and Responsibilities
Provide detailed, consistent, and accurate consultation and technical assistance to organizations and surveyors regarding survey procedures, processes and standards interpretation
Serves as content expert for organizations and surveyors
Edits or assists with editing of survey reports
Participates in international conferences and surveyor training
Reviews Quality Improvement Plans
Conduct other team activities as assigned
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Recreational Therapy, Social Work, or related field.
Experience in the delivery of medical rehabilitation services (five years with a Bachelor’s degree, two years whit a Master’s degree), including but not limited to:
Brain and/or spinal cord injury
Amputation specialty program
Case management/services coordination
Knowledge of CARF and/or Medical Rehabilitation accreditation processes is a plus
Excellent customer service skills managing customer accounts
Candidates must be detail oriented and possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal/communication skills
