Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the Cardiologists in an office setting.
Under the direction and supervision of a license physician, provides health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment.
Performs comprehensive outpatient office visits which include: obtaining medical history, performing physical examination, establishing diagnosis, and developing the patient’s plan of care with a focus in congestive heart failure.
The nurse practitioner will be required to complete all documentation, as well as order medications, diagnostic testing and review the testing results.
He/she will provide patient education about the underlying medical condition and instruct and counsel patient regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Provides referral letters as needed.
In addition to office visits, the Nurse Practitioner will perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
The Nurse Practitioner will perform cardiac stress tests to prepare patients for Cardiac Imaging (Nuclear or Ultrasound), EKGs, Holter Monitors and Pacemaker checks.
Ensure HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times.
Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
Current New York State license as a Nurse Practitioner
Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner
Competence with computerized health records
Ability to work with other medical professionals
Preference given to those with Cardiac Experience
