Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Functions in a collaborative practice with physicians and other advanced practice providers in a 43-bed PICU setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including continued hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Collaborates with the assigned team members to support and adjust plan of care and length of stay for patient care needs.
Graduate of an approved accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program; Masters of Science in Nursing required. Minimum two years provider experience, preferably in critical care. Recognition from the State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Current certification in Basic Life Support. Current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
