Nurse Practitioner, Pediatrics/Pediatric Resource Center

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medical at Peoria, located in a mid-size metropolitan area, is seeking applicants for multiple pediatric Nurse Practitioner positions to assist the department with teaching medical students, residents and fellows in Child Abuse Pediatrics. The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive evaluations for child maltreatment and health care for assigned patients/community as determined by scope of practice guidelines and specialty. This includes completion of a health assessment, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at University-affiliated hospitals and area of expertise. Other duties include assisting the department; provide clinical patient care in Pediatrics in the hospital and clinics; participate in clinical medical science research; and perform administrative duties and University service as assigned. Court testimony will also be required.
Requirements for the title of Nurse Practitioner are: possession of a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing and Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois. Experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric Urology/Gynecology and Pediatric Sexual Assault/Abuse preferred.

Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctorate degree in Nursing required.
Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois required.
Staff Nursing experience in Pediatrics preferred.
